IAEM-USA Student Awards

2019 IAEM-USA Student Awards Guidelines

Entries for these two awards are open only to entrants in the IAEM-USA Council area.
 

Award Categories

There are two award categories in the IAEM-USA only Student Awards Competition:

  • Student Chapter of the Year Award – recognizes an IAEM-registered student chapter which has made significant contributions in promoting IAEM, the Student Council and the field of emergency management through public awareness, increasing membership, showing leadership and initiative in education, and increasing the professionalism of emergency and disaster management. Student Chapter must be registered with IAEM.
  • Student Chapter Advisor of the Year – recognizes the IAEM student chapter advisor who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. This individual has made great strides in promoting the work of the student chapter and IAEM students as a whole. This may have been demonstrated through the formation of a chapter, maintaining a high level of activity for the chapter, or generally assisting students to further their education and career goals. Must have been a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers during the calendar year of 2017, and the chapter being advised must be registered with the IAEM. No self-nominations accepted.
  • IAEM-Global Student Awards – There are two additional student awards – Student of the Year and Student Ally of the Year – that are Global awards open to students worldwide. See this information for award entry details about these awards.

Awards Announcement and Presentation

Winners of the annual IAEM-USA Student Awards Competition are announced by the IAEM-USA Awards & Recognition Committee. Award presentations will take place at the IAEM 2019 Annual Conference, Savannah, Georgia, USA.
