Committee Mission

The Partnership Engagement Committee’s mandate is to make recommendations to the IAEM Canada Board of Directors on partnership engagement that support IAEM emergency management and planning initiatives at the local, provincial/territorial, indigenous and national levels through a proactive and coordinated approach. Partnerships Include:

  • Champions of Disaster Risk Reduction/Emergency Management
  • Universities and Colleges
  • Professional Associations

We are working to support our membership, enhance cooperation and team-work of all those interested in strengthening emergency management and overall disaster resilience in Canada. We look forward to hearing from you!

Committee Goals

  • Foster relationships with the local, provincial/territorial, aboriginal and national levels of government, the private sector agencies and Councils, boards, and commissions that support emergency management and planning initiatives.
  • Engage with stakeholder community to learn and echo challenges, ideas, and suggestions to encourage the development of implementation guidelines for the newly released Emergency Management Strategy for Canada.
  • Monitor proposed legislation at the local, provincial/territorial, aboriginal and national levels which may impact emergency management activities or the goals of the Council, or may set a precedent for future legal implications
