AEM/CEM Applications

This section walks you through the application process. Certification candidates may reach out to members of their council's Certification Commission for help and advice on the application process. 

The Steps

1. Fill out the Certification Enrollment form.
2. Determine the type of Certification you plan to obtain.
3. Pay the Certification Fee: $430 for IAEM members or $640 for non-members. 
4. Complete the below two steps within one year of each other (order does not matter)
   • Pass a multiple choice exam.  
   • Submit application through our Certification portal
5. Get Recognized at our Annual Conference during our Awards Banquet when you earn your Certification!
6. Recertify to keep your Certification current

Tips for successfully completing your AEM®/CEM® application:

• Review the Applicant Guidebook. 
• Click the blue "Submit Application" button on the dashboard to send your application to IAEM Headquarters for review.
