  • Region 2 Update (12 June 2015)
    • The death of Jim Smith earlier this year left us with a vacancy on our board. As per our bylaws, Anthony Mangeri has been elevated from secretary to vice president. Mark Vogel of Sussex County, NJ, has been appointed to the position of secretary.
    • We have formed a bylaws review committee to review and update our regional bylaws and APPs to ensure that we are in agreement with the IAEM-USA Bylaws. Mark Vogel will lead this group, which will have two members from New Jersey, two from New York, and a representative of the Student Region.
    • Region 2 plans to launch two new committees this fall – legislative affairs and membership. Legislative affairs will bring together representatives from our state associations and members from throughout the region to share information on legislative initiatives and common concerns. Membership will help us to increase our membership and better serve our members.
  • IAEM Region 2 Conference Cancelled (04 Mar 2015) It is with regret that we announce that due to lack of registrations this year’s IAEM Region 2 Conference has been cancelled. The IAEM Region 2 Board met late yesterday afternoon and realized that the low number of confirmed registrants at this late date was well below the number needed to make the conference financially possible. To best serve the interests of the region, we had no choice but to cancel the event at this time.

The Board wishes to thank those organizations that have come forward to support our efforts to provide our members a high quality regional networking and training event. Special thanks to our sponsors: American Military University, Adelphi University, the City of Long Beach, the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, RedLand Strategies Inc., and the Long Beach Hotel who have already contributed significant resources to support our event.

In the near future, we will be organizing a committee to review the networking and training needs of our members. Moreover, we look forward to your input as we reorganize regional programs. For those of you who have registered, you will receive a refund of your registration fee. You will be contacted by IAEM HQ shortly. Please share this notice with anyone you know who was considering attending.

Note: The CEM Prep Course & Exam offering will occur at a different venue to be announced.
