• IAEM-USA Region 1 Conference News (08 June 2019) Save the date for the 2019 IAEM-USA Region 1 Conference at University of Connecticut on Dec. 13, 2019. A pre-conference training session and a networking social will be held on Dec. 12, and possibly an offering of the AEM/CEM Prep Course/Exam on Dec. 14. More information will be provided soon!

• IAEM-USA Region 1 Sets Webinar for June 25, 2019 (07 June 2019) IAEM-USA Region 1 will hold a webinar on June 25, 2019, 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT, on "The Team Rubicon Response to the 2018 Aquidneck Island Gas Outage." Team Rubicon's Region 1 State Administrator for Rhode Island and Connecticut, Margaret Cullather, will be the speaker. This is the latest in a series of webinars presented by Region 1. Register online at no charge.

• IAEM Region 1 held their 2018 Regional Conference at Massachusetts Maritime Academy on November 16th, 2018. For more information on the event, see the event page.

• The 2017 Region 1 Conference was held Sept. 9, 2017, at Rivier College, Nashua, New Hampshire. Details about the conference on the Region 1 event site.

• IAEM-USA Region 1 to Partner with Rhode Island EMA for Annual Preparedness Conference on Aug. 10-11, 2016 (03 May 2016) (RIEMA press release, Aug. 9, 2016) The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA), in conjunction with IAEM-USA Region 1, the Rhode Island Association of Emergency Managers (RIAEM), and the Community College of Rhode Island’s (CCRI) Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program, will be hosting the two-day Annual Preparedness Conference on Aug. 10-11, 2016, at CCRI’s Knight Campus, Warwick, Rhode Island. This all-encompassing preparedness conference will address multiple emergency management-related topics. The theme of this year’s conference is “Be Rhody Ready.” The conference will consist of knowledgeable speakers, insightful training opportunities, forums in which attendees will be given the chance to speak one-on-one with subject matter experts, live demonstrations, and exhibitors throughout the two-day event. Visit the event site for more details and online registration for the Preparedness Conference.

• Results of Region 1 Officers Election (14 Oct 2015) In the regional election ending Oct. 14, 2015, Christian Lanphere, Ph.D., CEM, CCEMT-P, was elected Region 1 President, Andrew McGuire, BS, EMT-P, was elected Region 1 Vice President, and Katherine McCormack, RN, MPH, MEP, was elected Region 1 Secretary-Treasurer.

• IAEM-USA Region 1 Officers Election to be Held Sept. 5 through Sept. 19, 2013 (03 Sept 2013) IAEM-USA Region 1 members were notified via email on Sept. 3 that the IAEM-USA 2013 Region 1 Officers Election is set to begin on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, 9:00 a.m. and end on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, 5:00 p.m. Enter the voting area here to learn about the candidates for Region 1 President, and then cast your online vote beginning on Sept. 5, 2013. As based on the IAEM-USA Region 1 Bylaws, the candidate who gets the most votes in this election will be the Region 1 President; the candidate who comes in second will be the Region 1 Vice President, and the candidate who comes in third will be the Region 1 Secretary. Listed alphabetically by last name, the three candidates are: Christian M. Lanphere, Ph.D., CCEMT-P, CEM; Andrew D. McGuire, BS, EMT-P; and Jeffrey W. • 2012 IAEM-USA Region 1 Conference: "Community Preparedness: The First 72 Hours" Region 1 held its 2012 conference on Aug. 16, 2012, with a reception and networking event on Aug. 15, 2012. The conference was held at Bennington College, Bennington, Vermont.

• Rudy Guiliani Speaks at IAEM-USA Region 1 Conference (17 May 2011) More than 150 emergency managers who attended the IAEM-USA Region 1 Conference, which featured a keynote address by former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Mayor Guiliani talked about the importance of emergency planning in ensuring the success of response efforts.
