IAEM membership connects emergency management professionals and organizations with a global community committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment. IAEM serves professionals across mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, including those in government, the military, private industry, and volunteer organizations. It also provides current information and guidance to strengthen their emergency management role.

Members join to access practical benefits, build professional connections, and stay informed about issues shaping the field. Affiliate Members can also extend membership benefits to up to four representatives and gain additional visibility through IAEM channels.

Who Membership Is For
IAEM membership is designed for:
- Emergency management professionals across all mission areas.
- Individuals with emergency management or related responsibilities.
- Professionals in government, military, private sector, and volunteer organizations.
- Organizations and companies that support the emergency management profession.
IAEM-USA Membership Types
Individual Member ($229 USD): an individual professionally engaged or interested in emergency management and allied fields.
Emerging Professional: ($129 USD) Emerging Professional membership is available for up to two years to support new and early-career emergency management professionals who have been employed less than 12 months and who are starting out in the EM field or in a related position, and for IAEM student members who are new graduates (employed or not). Those who hold a CEM credential are not eligible for the Emerging Professional membership. This membership is only for U.S. new members, former IAEM student members, or current student members who have recently graduated or who are graduating soon.
Student Member:Â ($55 USD)Â Student membership is available for up to six years to anyone enrolled in a post-secondary institution, studying emergency management or a related field. Students must be enrolled full-time or enrolled part-time and not working full-time. Any full-time student qualifies for this membership category regardless of employment status. Current and previous Individual Members, and those who hold a CEM credential, are not eligible for Student Membership.
Affiliate Member: ($1,049 USD) Any organization or party that provides products, services, or other resources in support of IAEM and its members. Affiliate membership can dramatically enhance your ability to provide services and support to emergency managers. The Affiliate Membership belongs to the organization/company and provides access to four individuals as representatives of the company.
