IAEM invites members to participate in the 2026 IAEM 40 Under 40 Recognition Program. This is a prestigious recognition given to individual IAEM members who have demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and achievements in their respective fields.
The 40 Under 40 honor is a symbol of excellence and a testament to the remarkable achievements and hard work of the next generation of emergency management professionals who are making significant strides in their careers and positively impacting their communities and the field of emergency management.
Eligibility
Any IAEM-USA member under 40 may be nominated for recognition of their achievements and involvement in the emergency management community. Prior winners are not eligible for this award.
Nominations Process
IAEM members are invited to nominate an exceptional member or more for giving their all to their communities, even while balancing family, friends, and life. Nominations are accepted by completing a short survey providing information on why an individual should be in IAEM-USA's 2026 40 Under 40.
Deadlines
The deadline to receive nominations is 5:00 p.m. EDT, June 30
The award winners will be presented at the end of the summer/beginning of the fall.
Determining the Top 40
The Top 40 will be chosen by the IAEM-USA Awards Committee panel of judges, assessing candidates based on criteria such as innovation, impact, leadership qualities, and community involvement.Â
