IAEM International President Meets with Security and Emergency Management Delegates – April 23, 2012
IAEM International Council President Khaled Abdulla Almansoori met security and emergency management delegates in Washington, D.C., during the IAEM Board Meeting. He presented a painting on behalf of Abu Dhabi Learning Journey and the Centre of Excellence to Susan Stuart, CIO of the U.S. Department of State, for their collaboration on cybersecurity and social media. President Almansoori said, "it is great to have such partners as the CIO to assist in the education and capacity building of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Ms. Stuart and her team have been very helpful in providing information to improve cybersecurity, especially social media, to keep the UAE safe. We are thankful, and I look forward to a long, continuing relationship."
IAEM International President Attends IAEM-Global Board Meeting and Makes Contacts with U.S. Emergency Management and Resilience Community, April 18, 2012 Â
IAEM International Council President His Excellency Khaled Almansoori traveled to Washington for the IAEM Board Meeting. While in Washington, he met with several members of the emergency management and resilience community. On April 18, he met with FBI Cyber Division Unit Chief Steven M. Kelly. Mr. Kelly provided an overview of the FBI's Cyber mission. President Almansoori discussed the learning curve in Abu Dhabi and ways to collaborate on cybersecurity.
IAEM International President Represents IAEM at ISNR 2012 Exhibition and Conference, March 19-21
IAEM President Khaled Almansoori attended the ISNR Exhibition & Conference in Abu Dhabi, March 19-21, 2012. He met with UAE CERT officials at TRA to discuss cybercrime risks, including threats to power and traffic systems. He overviewed IAEM’s work, offered support through training and disaster aid, and highlighted the organization's global efforts.
IAEM International President Meets with Government Officials in Japan, March 21, 2012
IAEM International Council President His Excellency Khaled Almansoori visited Japan to meet government officials, including Urayasu City Mayor Hideki Matsuzaki. They discussed Urayasu City's profile, liquefaction damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake, and ongoing recovery efforts. President Khaled explained IAEM's benefits in providing expertise, support, and training to aid recovery and disaster preparedness. He commended IAEM's work in Asia and offered support.
IAEM International President Meets with UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs at World Future Energy Summit, Jan. 17, 2012
IAEM International Council President Khaled Abdulla Almansoori met with Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister and Special Envoy for Energy and Climate Change, and a Niger delegation at Abu Dhabi's World Future Energy Summit. They discussed potential climate disasters if issues go unaddressed. Over the past ten decades, natural disasters have devastated many countries in the Council region and are likely to worsen. President Mansoori emphasized the need to address energy issues to achieve a sustainable future and build resilience for disaster response, thereby supporting the country's sustainability.

International Council President Khaled Almansoori met with internationally recognized counterterrorism expert Richard A Clarke at the 3rd Crisis and Emergency Management Conference (CEMC) 2012. Mr. Clarke was a Foreign Policy Top 100 Global Thinker in 2011 and currently serves as Chairman of Good Harbor Consulting.
