July 23, 2025 – Paul Smiths, NY

Register Now

  1. Location: IAEM-USA Region 2 Conference: "Wicked Problems in Emergency Management", Paul Smith’s College, Paul Smiths, NY
  2. Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT
  3. Registration Deadline: June 30, 2025 (onsite registration is not available). The certification application fee must be paid by the registration deadline.
  4. Additional Information: This is an online exam offering; computers will be provided. Note: You do not need to register for the conference to take the exam. Use this information, if you are only taking the exam:
    • Registration Type = “Pre-Conf Session Only - Not attending conference”

  2. Time: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EDT
  3. Registration Deadline: August 1, 2025 (onsite registration is not available)
  4. Additional Information: USA Preparatory Course Registration Fee is $535. Payment is due at the time of registration.

 

August 25, 2025, AEM/CEM Certification Exam - Washington, DC

Registration Now

  1. Location: In conjunction with the 2025 National Homeland Security Conference, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC
  2. Time: 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. EDT
  3. Registration Deadline: August 1, 2025 (onsite registration is not available). Participants must register and pay their Certification Fee ($430 for IAEM members; $640 for non-members) by the registration deadline.
  4. Additional Information: Please arrive 30 minutes before the exam for check-in and bring a photo ID.

 


Scheduling an Exam Near You

Applicants can request an individual exam offering by completing an Exam Request Form. If you have any issues, please email Sharon Kelly. Read more about proctors here.

Important Examination Notes

  1. Certification Application Fee: Must be paid before sitting for the exam.
  2. Registration: Onsite registration is not available. Please register online by the specified deadlines.
  3. Identification: Bring a valid photo ID to the exam.

Retest Policy

If an applicant does not pass the exam:

  1. First Retake: One additional attempt is allowed at no extra charge after a 60-day waiting period.
  2. Subsequent Attempts: After two unsuccessful attempts, applicants must repay the certification fee to receive two more opportunities.
