Early Registration - Early bird registration deadline has been extended to Sunday, October 20, 2024 for registrations received by IAEM headquarters. Registration fees increase as of Monday, October 21, 2024 and will be subject to a late registration fee. In order to lock in your registration rate, you must complete an online registration form and obtain a registration number. Otherwise, your registration fee will be based on the date you register online with IAEM Headquarters.
Cancellation Policy - You may submit a cancel notice in writing to Sharon@iaem.com by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on October 31, 2024 to receive a refund minus a $75 cancellation processing fee. We regret we cannot refund any fees as of November 1, 2024 because we must submit complete commitments for facilities, materials, and meals. If we do not hear from you by October 31, 2024 we will assume that you will participate based on your registration and will incur costs on your behalf. A cancellation confirmation will be sent acknowledging the cancellation. Therefore, if you do not cancel, your registration fees are due even if you do not attend.
CEM / AEM Examination Participation - candidates will be taking the updated exam. Please make sure you are studying the new resource list at https://www.iaem.org/Certification/Resource-Center: An additional fee is required to sit for the exam. Registration deadline: Thursday, October 31, 2024. Unfortunately, late registrations cannot be accommodated. You must be enrolled in the certification program and have paid the application fee in full separately ($430 for IAEM members; $640 for non-members). Only those who have paid the application fee in full are eligible to register and sit for the exam. Candidates will have one year from the date of the exam to submit their credentials for review. Visit https://www.iaem.org/Certification/Getting-Started to request an application and https://www.iaem.org/Certification/Application-Process to submit your certification application fee payment.

Carrie Speranza (COPRESENTER)
<p>Carrie Speranza, CEM, is the Director of Emergency Management Solutions at Esri where she is responsible for industry-wide strategic initiatives, globally. She serves as Chair of the FEMA National Advisory Council, President of IAEM-USA, and is an advisory board member for the Private Sector Emergency Management Association. </p><p>Prior to joining Esri, Carrie was Deputy Director for the District of Columbia's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. She has deployed in support of post-hurricane disaster relief efforts for multiple hurricanes, and worked as the Deputy Agency Administrator and Executive Command Staff in response to multiple civil unrest emergencies, extreme weather emergencies, and over two dozen National Special Security Events. Carrie was the senior executive overseeing the District’s Emergency Operations Center during the United States Capitol Attack on January 6, 2021. </p><p>Carrie is a graduate of the National Emergency Management Executive Academy, and in 2021, was selected for IAEM-USA Region 3’s Top 40 Under 40.</p>

LaShawn Lenore (LEADER)
<p>LaShawn Lenore is a Certified Emergency Manager and assumed the duties as Director, National Exercise Division (NED), Office of National Exercises and Technological Hazards, Federal Emergency Management Agency in September 2021. As NED Director, Mr. Lenore leads efforts to ensure the Nation assesses its readiness and validates its all-hazards capabilities through superior exercises conducted at all levels of government and throughout the whole community through the National Exercise Program.</p><p>Mr. Lenore is a dynamic emergency management (EM) senior leader and has served in a variety of positions over 24 years leading and managing all-hazards EM, Mission Assurance and exercise programs including Homeland Security Section Chief NED, Branch Deputy Chief DHS Office of Operations Coordination, Senior Continuity Planner Office of the Director of National Intelligence, EM Program Manager National Reconnaissance Office, Senior Noncommissioned Officer Presidential Support Duty White House Military Office and a plethora of military assignments.</p>

Manuel Centeno (LEADER)
<p><span style="color:hsl(0, 0%, 0%);">Manny Centeno is the Federal Emergency Agency (FEMA) Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) Division Director. He has been with FEMA since June 2010 supporting the development of IPAWS and leading testing, training, and outreach. His work has significantly impacted the National Public Warning System and the Primary Entry Point system, ensuring Presidential communications can reach the public under all conditions. His expertise in resilience, readiness, and mass communication has led to innovations in protecting critical systems against electromagnetic pulses, setting a national standard. Manny has played a pivotal role in enhancing emergency communications with the public, collaborating with the mass media industry and leading the first Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test in 2011. His contributions continued with the creation of a satellite communications network for the program and the design and establishment of the IPAWS Laboratory and Technical Support Service Facility. Before FEMA, Mr. Centeno's career spanned over 3 decades in local emergency management, broadcast and emergency communications, including significant roles in the film and television industry. </span></p>

Rob Long (LEADER)
<p>As Director of the Office of the National Advisory Council at FEMA, Rob coordinates tribal, state, territorial, local government, interagency, private, and non-profit sector expertise to advise the FEMA Administrator with recommendations for improving on all aspects of emergency management. Prior to ONAC, he supported Homeland Security Grant Programs by maintaining and modifying risk models, validating methodologies, developing interagency partnerships, and advising leadership. He began his FEMA career as a port security program specialist for Washington State and Alaska. Prior to that he held management, advisory and consulting roles in the agriculture, community resilience, energy, and corporate sectors; such as special advisor to the chief scientist of a global environmental council, co-lead of a biosecurity-focused experiential veterinary education program, and serving on non-profit boards. He holds a juris doctorate and master of geospatial science and completed the Executive Leaders Program of the Center for Homeland Defense and Security at the Navel Postgraduate School.</p>
