IAEM Awards FAQ 2020: USA-only or Canada-only Awards vs. Global Awards

1. What awards are only for IAEM-USA Council members?

The IAEM-USA Only Award categories are:

• IAEM-USA Clayton R. Christopher Local Emergency Manager Memorial Award  
• IAEM-USA Emergency Manager of the Year Award
• IAEM-USA Career Excellence Award  
• IAEM-USA Military Uniformed Services Emergency Manager of the Year Award  
• IAEM-USA Civilian Uniformed Services Emergency Manager of the Year Award
• IAEM-USA Uniformed Services Auxiliary Member of the Year Award  
• IAEM-USA Emergency Management Volunteer of the Year Award  
• IAEM-USA Emergency Management Voluntary Organization of the Year Award
• IAEM-USA Student Chapter of the Year Award  
• IAEM-USA Student Chapter Advisor of the Year Award  

2. What awards are only for IAEM-Canada Council members?

The IAEM-Canada Only Award categories are:

• IAEM-Canada Career Excellence Award
• IAEM-Canada Emergency Management Volunteer Award
• IAEM-Canada Prepared Community Award
• IAEM-Canada Merit Award

Any one in any location worldwide can enter the IAEM-Global Awards categories. This is a multi-level competition. Entrants will compete with entrants within their Council or geographic area, and winners then will compete at the Global level.

The IAEM-Global Award categories are:

• IAEM-Global Business & Industry Preparedness Award
• IAEM-Global Partners in Preparedness Award   
• IAEM-USA Public Awareness Award  
• IAEM-USA Technology and Innovation Award
• IAEM-Global Student of the Year Award
• IAEM-Global Student Ally of the Year Award
